Katie presents Essential Weekend.
At just 11 years old, Katie B brings plenty of energy, enthusiasm and a real passion for music to Essential Radio.
Her playlist is as varied as her interests, with favourites including the musicals SIX, Hamilton and EPIC. She is also a huge Avril Lavigne fan, although she will happily listen to almost anything that gets her feet tapping.
Katie is currently spending time in Dubai and is even hosting some of her radio shows remotely, proving that great radio can come from anywhere in the world.
When she is not behind the microphone, Katie is an avid reader who is never far from a good book. She loves stories with a touch of magic and adventure, including Harry Potter, Silverborn and Hedgewitch. She is just as happy diving into the hilarious world of Doctor Proctor or solving mysteries with The Swifts, and she can even recite a little Rabbie Burns when the occasion calls for it.
Katie is also a keen swimmer, representing her school swim team and recently achieving a placing at one of the Dubai Open Schools competitions.
Away from books and swimming, Katie is a complete gamer girl at heart. If it has a screen attached, she will probably be playing it. She also loves a competitive game of air hockey and enjoys days out at activity bounce and climbing centres.
Whether she is sharing great music, fun facts or a few laughs, Katie is excited to be part of the Essential Radio team and cannot wait to spend time with listeners every week.
